Pepsi may have their "hope", Ashford and Simpson may be capitalizing off of "Solid as Barack" , but most of the people I know aren't particularly thrilled with our new Robin Hood president and haven't been looking forward to today's changing of the guard.
I happen to feel the same way, but just because I won't be shedding tears of joy with Oprah doesn't mean I don't have a great sense of peace about the next 4 years.
Why, you might ask, do I feel this way?
Well, it's because I have 4 boys. Every night those 4 boys pray. They pray for an end to abortion, for the soldiers in Iraq, for those people who don't have homes or jobs. They pray for Catherine and her future, and for another sister. They pray for our house to sell, and for everyone else's house to sell, for their dad, his new job, and my patience. They pray for all the crazy people out there, for all the people who had to call 911 for some reason, and for all those people who are in hospitals right now. Every night they pray! They pray for very important needs and very important things, but none of these is quite as important as the prayer they have all been praying since November 5, 2008.......
"and God, we just pray that Obama doesn't do too much damage to our country."
You see, I have peace, because even though it may take a while, my kids usually get what they pray for.
